A bespoke piece of automobile pop art and history: stunning suncatcher of Moe Pare' Jr. artist rendition for the first electric vehicle in 1974. The Citi-Car / Comuta-Car.
Expertly crafted with hand rolled yellow and black cathedral glass panes set in heavy lead cames, set with two hanging eyelets and chains. The textures of the glass panes were perfectly chosen - displays well from either side, with distinct differences.
This was discovered from a local / tri-state area estate, and unfortunately no further provenance. Whether commissioned by Sebring-Vanguard for shows/showroom display, or by an avid fan of this car, it was professionally and expertly crafted. No signature or dating was visible through the glass or on the edges.
The topmost edge has come slightly loose, and that narrow panel has a crack as shown. It will hang as it is, but we would recommend the lead joint be re-soldered at the weak spot.
