A truly rare piece to add to your collection, this Heron Martinez Mendoza pottery Tree of Life was done during the "White Period" in the 1950s-60s.
Gorgeous example of his artwork in vibrant colors and patterns, adorned with a family, birds, and mule under a winged angel/cherub. Features 6 figures, 10 birds, the mule, cherub and 3 candle holders.
This piece does show that it was mended in at least six places; however the mends are reasonable and do not detract from the overall beauty. 1 bird has lost it's wire (included), missing 2 additional birds (empty loops on the 2 outermost figures). The left side figure is separated at the waist and does have a good bit of glue.
Please see all photos close-up for exact details and condition.
Measures approx. 13 1/4" tall and 10 1/2" wide.
Will ship double boxed and insured.
